I am Maya Lanska, a traveling tattoo artist and painter with an unconventional path and a deep obsession with form, flow, and human connection.

From Neuroscience to the Needle

My journey into art started from the inside out. For years, I worked as a professional life drawing model in art studios. Sitting at the center of the creative process, I absorbed hours of lectures on anatomy, light, and form. Every night, I went home to practice those exact techniques on paper.

Though I pursued a B.Sc. and was accepted into a Master’s program for Neuroscience, my heart remained in the studio. I chose to leave the laboratory behind to fully commit to my lifelong dream of tattooing.

The Style: Sketchbook & Blackwork

I specialize in blackwork with a distinct charcoal and sketchbook aesthetic. My work focuses on organic textures that mimic graphite, giving each piece depth and a sense of atmosphere.

The Collaboration

I view every tattoo as a co-creation. Your ideas and stories are the foundation. My job is to translate your vision into "tattoo language"—ensuring the design flows perfectly with your body, matches your budget, and honors your original concept.

Beyond the Studio

When I am not tattooing, you can find me working with oil paints or drawing new ideas with pencils. Traveling keeps my perspective fresh, while hiking in nature keeps me grounded. To unwind and release the intense focus of my studio work, I love going out to dance, mostly techno and psytrance raves.
